A new €100,000 four year partnership has been agreed with lead sponsor Aldi in association with ABP Food Group & the Irish Angus Cattle Society for the Aldi Irish Angus All Ireland Bull Calf Championships until 2022.

Since 2015 Aldi, ABP Food Group, & the Irish Angus Cattle Society has seen a 40% increase in entries in the finals at Iverk Show, situated in Pilltown in south Kilkenny which claims to be the longest running Agri-Show in Ireland.

With 12 qualifying shows around Ireland and 6 bulls qualifying from each show, we should end up with 72 of Irelands finest Irish Angus bulls on parade on August 24th at the Iverk showgrounds. What a sight to behold!

Thanks to the very generous sponsorship, each exhibitor will receive €250.00 for each qualified animal that turns up for showing on the day. That alone is more than the total prizefund of any regular class at any of the shows around Ireland.

So an exhibitor that arrives with 6 qualified animals will receive €1,500.00 before he even puts on his show harness and still has the chance to win a first prize of €2,000.00.

Irish Angus is the only cattle Society in Europe with such a magnificent prizefund of €27,000.00 for three Irish Angus Bull Calf classes on show day and if that’s not enough, the same sponsors have put up another €3,000.00 for four classes in the Irish Angus Female Section making a total prizefund of €30,000.00.……………….Is’ent it great to be Irish !!!

Aldi’s Group Buying Director, John Curtin commented “We are delighted to extend our sponsorship of the Aldi Irish Angus All Ireland Bull Calf Championships for another four years.
